Live from the Bomb Shelter

I just put together another computer from spare parts. I intended it to be a windows computer to sell but as it stands I am happy that I put Slackware Linux on it. My friend Steve is helping me learn linux and suggested the Slackware distro. I must say that I am starting to like it, even though it’s not easy. There is a lot of reading. I managed to set everything up the way I like it though and it is now my web surfing/IM computer. So feel free to IM me now and I will answer more often because I will be logged in all the time. I have a web cam too that I might try to get working with Linux except it’s harder to do.

Life is good

I’ve been contacted by a recruiter from proship entertainment. You know, the people who have the job I said I wanted 6 months ago. I am also now in a jazz band at the college. It seems the more I really commit to being in the music industry, the more it meets me half way. I said I wanted to be doing music for a living by the end of the year. It looks like it could happen. I will be talking with the guy from proship on Monday. I will likely be auditioning in a couple of weeks. If I get the job, I will be taking a leave of absence from work for a 3 month carribean cruise tour playing trumpet. If I like it and they like me, I may be making it a permanent career change Wish me luck!

Ok people. Any of you who know me, know that one of my favorite authors is Terry Goodkind. The ‘Sword of Truth’ series are up in my top five sets of books of all time. As it happens, this series is being made into a TV show! YAY!

My Island

Some of you have heard me talk about my island. Well, it’s not actually mine, yet. However, when I win the lottery or sell a ridiculously successful song, it will be. It’s only going to cost about $50,000,000. Cheap as far as islands go. It’s called Katafanga, which stands for ’smiling island’. Here is a video of it:
